Gimhae-si announced that three research institute companies in the Kangso R&D special zone have registered additionally as of the 21st. 

 

As a result, the city, the only special zone for life and medical devices in the country, has completed registration of 15 research institute companies, the largest number among the special zones in Changwon and Jinju.

 

Starting with Double Europe, the No. 1 research institute company, in February 2020, 12 research institute companies registered last year alone, exceeding 71% of their business targets.

 

The additional research institutes registered this time are DDM Co., Ltd., DIC Research Institute Co., and LiaCNF Co., Ltd.

 

DDMI Co., Ltd. will transfer and commercialize Inje University's "technology such as electric transfer lifts supporting patients' upper bodies for caregivers," and DIC Research Institute, a subsidiary of Sebit Medical Co., Ltd., a diagnostic equipment company, will transfer Hannam University's "technology related to nano pore virus filters." In addition, REACNF Co., Ltd. is focusing on commercialization of technology by transferring Changwon University's "technology such as manufacturing method of plate-shaped particles through ball milling." ¡Ø Ball milling: A grinding research company using a ball-shaped grinding medium is a company established in a special R&D zone by investing more than 10-20% of its established capital to commercialize technologies developed by public research institutes.

 

The city aims to register 56 research institute companies by 2024, and the goal of registering research institute companies by this year is 25 companies (accumulated). In addition to the registration performance of research institute companies last year, Gimhae Gangso Special District achieved results of 15 technology transfer commercialization companies, 19 start-ups, and 55 corporate support projects. Mayor Huh Sung-gon said he has successfully registered the largest research institute in the province as a result of mobilizing all the capabilities of the Gangso Special Zone Project Group, and this year, he will allow citizens to feel the benefits.
